Further Information

Roberto Olayo Alarcon studied Genomic Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

For his thesis, he worked at the Helmholtz Zentrum München with Dr. Robert Schneider, studying changes in the epigenetic activity of regulatory elements, in liver cells that are faced with glucose starvation.

With Prof. Dr. Christian Müller, he will participate in the Bayresq consortium, which aims to tackle the challenge of emerging antimicrobial resistance. In this project, they will study the expression patterns of stress-induced regulators that are used by bacterial pathogens in order to adapt to various chemical-stimuli, including antibiotics.
